In 2013, a train carrying a massive load of petrol derails in the town of Lac-Mégantic in Quebec. The many explosions and fires cause forty-seven deaths; two thousand people are evacuated. Based on this real-life tragedy, this series follows the destinies of the town's inhabitants, traumatised by the rail catastrophe.
