When several people fell ill with stomach pains in the Hertfordshire village of Bovingdon, the locals came up with a name for the complaint - The Bovingdon Bug. But only after the epidemic had claimed the lives of two people did anyone make the connection between the killer disease and Graham Young, a withdrawn and brooding storeman at the local factory, about whom very little was known.
